The new NWSL CBA has been ratified. It is an amalgam of all the hard work, blood, sweat, and tears that a lot of people put in and have not received the full credit for. The CBA provides a framework for improving the conditions of women in sports by guaranteeing rights, ensuring fair compensation, improving working conditions, strengthening negotiating power, providing greater job security, and giving players a voice and representation.

Here is a quick letter to the change makers behind the CBA.

Dear Players, Coaches and Staff, Independent Media, Supporter Groups, and NWSL Players Union,

I want to express my deepest gratitude for your tireless efforts to fight for change and believe in the hope and future of the NWSL. Your courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment have been instrumental in shaping the league into what it is today.

Despite the numerous challenges, the players' on-field performances have inspired countless fans and showcased the incredible passion, talent and skill within the NWSL. In addition to your advocacy off the field has been equally important, as you have fought for fair wages, improved working conditions, and greater recognition for women's soccer.

Independent media has also played a vital role in highlighting the issues facing the league and holding those in power accountable. Your unwavering support and belief in the NWSL players have been invaluable. Independent media outlets have been essential in giving a voice to the unheard and providing on-the-ground coverage of women's sports issues, even when major outlets have been silent.

The supporter groups have created a passionate and welcoming environment for fans and players alike. Your enthusiasm and dedication have helped to create a strong and vibrant community around the NWSL. Supporter groups have been instrumental in raising awareness of issues facing women in sports, mobilizing public support, and putting pressure on decision-makers to implement positive changes.

The NWSL Players Union has been a tireless advocate for the rights of players. Your work has helped to improve the lives of countless athletes and has ensured that the league continues to grow and thrive. A players union, filled with current and former players, provides a powerful voice for female athletes because they have firsthand experience with the challenges and issues faced by women in sports. They empower female athletes to have a stronger voice and advocate for their rights and interests.

The challenges faced by women in sports often mirror those faced by women in society. The fight for equality, respect, and recognition is a universal struggle. I am hopeful that the progress made in the NWSL will echo out into the world, inspiring others to fight for a more just and equitable society and sport.

Thank you to all involved for your dedication, your passion, and your belief in the power of sport. Your efforts have made a lasting impact on the league and the sport of women's soccer. Women's soccer is making strides. While challenges remain, the progress is inspiring. Let's continue to support and celebrate female athletes.
